the cobra 269 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Share Posted December 5, 2009 good catch dogs mate just stay back from the racing stuff the dog in the pick is out a ped dog and a distance bitch and still had to much pace for his own good rember luke you owned this dog when he was young every dog slows down and learns as they get older av had bertie over 2 years now and he s a diffrant dog now took all quary no bother pre ban and only a handfull of small injurys 24 inch works day and night fast good mouth turn on a penny and not bad stamina and sire s a good litter as u have a pup from one of his 5 litters can we see some pics of bertie and what nombers of rabbits you had?with him and so cheers david david al get my mate to take some photo s and put them up as for rabbits we have to travell a good bit for them it s all larger quarry shot and retreived these days nout rong with retreiving the game mate cheers david al get some photo s up tommorow and see what u think oky doky not to sure how to send a pm my mate will show me tommorow us old boys are just learning Quote Link to post

whip x grey 276 Posted December 6, 2009 Report Share Posted December 6, 2009 (edited) when topic says all rounders,,,,does that mean roe deer and foxes & also rabbits ,hare,s ,,,,single handed for this type off breed,,,pre ban,, from experance and talking to my old man whos delt with this type,s longer than most ,,,i,e ped x grey 50,s 60,s 70,s,,,,,,and non ped x grey ,s & 90,s he did notice one thing ,,,it takes a very specail whip x grey to take bigger game,, now i heard off 21/ 22 inch take fox,,single handed,,but are well scarred afterwards,,as take,s long time to do job,,,but they do now as for adult roe,,,smallest whippet cross ive tryed is 36lb 23 1/2 inch ,,,,single handed,,,,,but would take longer to depatch,,,but in all fairness did,,and ran the roe down really well my question really is as iam not sure,,,( might be x gamekeeper but that doesnt mean i know everything,,) the fawn dog in my signature has great jaw power,,more than the 36lb 23 1/2 inch whippet cross i had in past ----- has anyone had a 221/2 inch whippet cross take adult roe single handed,,as ive not tryed a 32lber on a roe,,,,,,i know my 28lber in my singnature couldnt,,give him his due,s he,ll give it a go as done in past,,,but his size , not his heart,,, was at end off the day his biggest haddycapp,,no fault off his own basically to simafly ,,,what the smallest cross whippet ,,( 1/4 ,,1/2 whippet grey uve ever owned take bigger game pre ban ) regards bob Edited December 6, 2009 by whip x grey Quote Link to post

bunks 4 Posted December 6, 2009 Report Share Posted December 6, 2009 i now the berty dog who is owned buy the cobra from this site, and it will kill anything day and night ive seen this dog kill three and four hares and plenty of roe all preban,this dog exell's on daytime long ear's,i have seen this dog run with alot of other crosses and have not seen anything cum near it,i run a 3/4 grey 1/4 collie who strugles to keep up with this little dog and is almost five inches bigger,from what ive seen of these crosses they are allrounder's,these dog's are lightning quick whith great turning and great striking atb cheer's....
