Shamo 319
2008 male Parent Reared Goshawk, finished last season at 1lb 8oz after starting at 1lb 6ish. Don't make the mistake of thinking the larger imprinted Birds will be better at hunting......"the size of the fight in the Dog"....and all that. Had 40 Rabbits and mugged 2 Pheasant Cocks over a short period of time. He suffered a lot of Tail damage (my ignorence)and put down to molt early February, but is now ready to bring out of the molt with all new Feathers, I haven't lifted him yet. Thought it best to let new owner do it, help with re-manning by a new handler. I molt all my Birds out on either Bow Perches or Raptor Posts, so he has had contact but very little actual handling. Been fed on Pheasant, Partridge, Quail, Rabbit, Squirrell and early molt DOC's with a molting supplement. I won't take less than £450 for him and am based in Devon. He is for sale because I want to get my older 4 year old female doing more Pheasant and cover work this season, having done mostly Rabbiting and Ferreting all last. So will be putting more time into her and I am going to be more busy this season with other things, than I have been the last few. I was going to keep him and maybe breed the pair next year, but don't think I want the hassle just yet. Be better for him to get him out hunting, this being his second season he should be out A LOT, more than I will get him out.
