valentino 0
unfortunatley i had to have my xhh pup put to sleep last tuesday night,...she was only 5 months old and was from bred from dutchknpv stock. The pup was bouncing on the morning of tuesday, but when i returned home from work i new something was seriously wrong...she was in shock and when i let her out of the pen she was sick and had bloody diaorhhea....... i went to the vets and to cut along story short,....they transferred me to a emergency 24 hr vets and they both told me she had a bacteria infection or virus caused by something she may have eaten and with her only being a young pup her immune system wasnt fully developed.....they also said she was leaking fluid inside which is why she was dehydrated????? i asked about poisoning and parvo.....they both said definatley not poisoning and very unlikely parvo as she was jabbed and didnt smelllikea parvo dog,..bu they couldnt rule it out as viruses mutate etc. anyway i paid £450 for them as a estimated to treat her through the night.........i had only been back at home ten minutes when thy phoned me and said the rotein in the dogs blood was either to high or low.....and they said she had little chance of surviving and said it would be best to put her to sleep.....tosayim gutted is a understatement.... i was over the moon with my pup....i was using her in the manor of a lurcher catching rabbits and obviously to do her job of protecting my stock.... she was without a doubt the most confident self assured pup ive ever seen with unbelievable drive. she would jump into any water at 12 weeks old and retrive back to hand like a labrador. she was marking rabbits to ground at 11 weeks old and caught her first at 4 1/2 months old in cover. as a protection dog???......well she would get over a 5 1/2 ft fence to bite and wouldnt let anyone near my car...yet i could walk round a country show with her with no problems...... i can go on and on about what i thought of this dog and how impressed i was with her...infact i will tell the truth and say im not the same person at the minute. she was my first xhh and shaping up to be the best dog ive ever had...... pic is of her with her first rabbit Quote Link to post
