scope Advice?

If money is tight dont bother with adjustable magnification, ive got it on mine and very rarely use it. Just go for the best you can afford, you will only regret it later if you dont. Swarovski, zeiss, docter optics etc you wont go far wrong. For lamping get one with a large objective lens.

i think i might opt for a s&b 6x42 or 8x56..is the magnification suitable for longer rangers with the 6x42?

youll be ok to 300 daytime no bother further on a good day ..you aint going to be taking many shots at that dissdence at night :thumbs:
