scope Advice?

just wondering if anyone could advise me on a scope for a .243..i would mainly be using the gun for shooting foxes and occasionly doing some stalking

buy the best you can afford ...german glass is best

If money is tight dont bother with adjustable magnification, ive got it on mine and very rarely use it. Just go for the best you can afford, you will only regret it later if you dont. Swarovski, zeiss, docter optics etc you wont go far wrong. For lamping get one with a large objective lens.

ive been using 6x42 swarovski on my .243 for years ..youll have no problems with one

i think i might opt for a s&b 6x42 or 8x56..is the magnification suitable for longer rangers with the 6x42?

youll be ok to 300 daytime no bother further on a good day ..you aint going to be taking many shots at that dissdence at night

the rifle will determine the range ,, the scope gives you a good picture of the target..bigger scope bigger picture

Personally, if the money isnt too different between the pair i would go for 8x56, you will notice the difference in evenings and whilst out lamping, bigger objective lense, lets in more light.

i have just come across a meopta 2000 7x50 for £360 new...has any one got any info on these scopes? and how do you rate them

Definately with "FightThebanon this one. S&B 8x56 is a fantastic scope the Hungarian Classik is a little cheaper. Good luck.
