Foxes digging up footy pitch

Recommended Posts

Right then folks here's one for you to have a think about.

Foxes digging up a football pitch

can't use snares or firearms

had one in trap but some fecking tree hugger let it out and now they won't go anywhere near the traps

Taking baits from in front of the traps but won't go inside to feed. The food outside the traps has now been stopped in the hope they will be forced to feed on the trap baits but NO!!

they are having none of it..

I am at my wits end and the club want a result as its causing a right load of moither.

Cheers folks any suggestions would be a great help

I personally would be there with a .22 rimmy and sort the problem. The pitch owners wont be none the wiser as its whisper quiet and if you can set yourself up properly and they are used to people being in a built up area you should be able to get pretty close.

Other than that your limited to, like the other lad said and "go to the source of the problem" and eradicate them.

Tricky one. Certainly wouldn't shoot without the pitch owner's OK, or use a live rabbit for bait!

A rimmy with NV if you can persuade the owners, from an elevated position (and assuming you're on an open ticket) would be the best bet, if not, try to remove all sources of grub and persevere with the cages. Would electric fencing added to existing boundaries be an option?

Like the guys have suggested you have done what is sensible so far without success so the only practical method left is a .22 rimfire with a moderator. There won't be many people about at 2am in the morning. If they won't let you use it the walk away from the job, it will be their problem! :wallbash:
