first cross bull deerhound

Recommended Posts

been thinking of this cross for a while but dont seem to see them advertised or bred. im certainly no expert but surely theyd have good coat, good feet, gameness, big/strong enough to hold the big stuff, so why dont ya see them, is it better to have a bit of grey in there?. what are your opinions folks does anyone run em?

I agree with everything you have said, but I think its the speed that would let them down.

I reckon a deer/grey x bull/grey would be a better cross because it would have that crucial bit of added speed.

how do you rate the cross Dai?

cant rate him yet as hes only turned 12 months, so far hes done everything wrong. i will just have to wait and see.people tell me that the deerhound crosses are slow to mature. it seems to be the case with this fella.

Thanks for the input Dai, im only interested as they have a good jacket like the wheaten first crosses, which is the only downside to my bullx, he really suffers in bad weather.

do you know anything of the rest of the litter? Will be interesting to hear how he gets on for you.
