andyrose 8
imo it has to be 5/8 greyhound 3/8 collie, you get best of both worlds. racier than a 1/2 cross, more brains than a 3/4 cross. Quote Link to post
cúagusgiorraí 57
tezzz, If you do find a coolie cross, or breed one, will you let us know how it turns out? I have often wondered what a coolie cross would be like. Quote Link to post
Sorley x 32
Don't worry about how much collie is in the mix, worry more about the TYPE of collie in the mix. There are some TERRIBLE collie bases out there. Get out and see some stuff working plus get something to suit you, your land and your style of hunting. Quote Link to post

cúagusgiorraí 57
I think it depends on what type of collie is used and what type of terrain you hunt on, and quarry. I think a half cross is ideal as an allrounder on rough ground. If the collie that was used is nice and leggy and from a proper tough hill working strain then you will be fine. Quote Link to post

Sam, your right alot of it,s down to what sort of collie you use, i prefer the fell type, or hill types, that are lightboned, racey, and leggy, and shorter coated, rather than the lowland cobbier types, i definately believe they throw racier types of lurchers. regards collie john. fcuk_da_ban 0
3/4 greyhound 1/4 collie ideal i think this cross does the trick my 1/2x colliesas they got older 3yrs tenderd to choose their runs i use my collie as an alrounder but he better at mooching and day working than on the lamp but he'll do just fine on the lamp Quote Link to post
charlie boy 85
i got a collie x , sire 1st x collie x grey and dam colliexwhippet. 21 1/2 tts 40lbs does very well on lamp on the bunnies and the big bunnies puts alot of the so called bigger dogs to shame. Quote Link to post
