Recommended Posts

i am selling my imprint harris hawk due to packing in the birds i bred her myself out of some good hunting birds not sure wat weight she is but she will be bigger than your average one as the mother tops out at over 3lb i bred her because i wanted to breed some hybrids thats why she is imprinted shes as daft as a brush would be ideal for a beginner as she is very tame im open to sensible offers, carl 07876082578

hows she a hybred when shes a imprint and shes only a hawk not crossed with anything

the way i read it he imprinted her with the idea of AI her to create a hybrid! dont think he means she is a hybrid! sounds a very noisy idea to me and also a big bird like that being an imprint is askin for trouble when at flyin weight and hungry! one little strop nd its eye patch time! lol! imo. good luck with sale could make good breeding stock but out of interest hy would you hybridise a harris, :hmm: cant see how you could add anything to it to make it better at what they do without adding vices that you dont need!

the idea was to breedsome goss x harris as i had a finnish male but thats not happenin now i dont no wether you will get any noise off her when you take some weight off and wat makes youthink that because its a imprint you will need aeye patch if done correctly she will be fine she isnot an aggresive hawk and if soebody is realy interested in her i will train her for them just to prove a point atb carl

just the lack of respect that is shown by some birds espec harris when they are big when impriunted! they can get a bit sparky when at flyin weight when things maybe not going for them on the day!strops happen and a big female imprint harris deciding to land on your face is not a nice proposition! i have flon imprinted falcons that when they had enough and want feeding will just hit me and ignore the lure! just not so sure she will be an ideal bird for a beginner as stated in the post! i would have been interseted myself but i had a male that was semi imprinted and he screamed like hell! just my opinon mate! would hate to see you sell it only to see it come back from an inexperianced owner cos it got noisy or nasty! as i said best of luck! jonny
