Fat ferret

After weeks of finally getting my new hutch sorted i put the ferts in there today (will put pics up when i can) there is a bigish run at the bottom with a 4inch pipe leading to the middle section then ladder type leading to sleeping section, the old fert slips and slides up and dow the pipe a treat but his son this years hob only just with a wiggle fits in the 4 inch pipe, i'm hoping that he loses his puppy fat cause he's a monster, cause i haven't had time to do the hutch all he done in the old hutch was eat sleep and shite, have any of you lot got some big ferrets,

never worked a big hob ferret in my life,nothing but hastle imo,knocking nets out way,lying up,cant beat a good jill mate,

I have just this season aquired a promising hob who has learnt to pass through nets without disturbing them. If a ferret can barely pass through a 4 inch tube, then it doesn't sound too hopeful.

sorry mate have to agree with others if it dont fit thru a tube aint got a chance with nets i agree they do loose a bit of puppy fat when they start workin but no ferret is gonna loose that much stick with jills

I keep 8 hobs, 3 of which are monsters, and also my best workers, ditch the purse nets and use longnets with them, alot less hassel

something to keep in mind is hobs.. especially those big ones.. tend to be biggest their first year...

 

they'll lose up to 40% come spring and then next winter the weight gain will be significantly lower...
