RATTING

Guest porterlord

hi ive got two jrt's and thinking about taking them ratting. how about do you ask farmers about going ratting etc.

are they doing any thing because if they are it will be easyer for you to get permission i would just knock on there door and see if they are willing to alow you on. some farmers are so funny about it try farmers near you first word of mouth is the best way it gets you more permission. where abouts are you?

Just pick an area and drive round it knocking on doors , the farmer will either say yes or no. Some people get cards and letters knocked up with names and numbers on but to be honest speaking to the farmer face to face is probably a better bet

best knocking on doors mate, they dont have to be bred worker to worker.it helps but it dosent mean they woant catch rats better than any,all worker to worker means is that you got a better chance in the first place of your dog turning out well.hope this helps mate.good luck gaining some permission.

Just be careful around bales. The chances of your dogs getting to a rat in bales are slim at the best of times and you never know what else they might meet in them. Try looking round old stacks of wood, along ditches and any piles of rubbish lying around. All the best getting some permission.
