been out every day this week walking for about 6 miles a day lamping the fields golf coarses ect there is nothing and i mean nothing. i keep thinking about bagging a few rabbits and releasing them. but done it before and they have been wiped out. would you repopulate or just leave it. it pisses me off that kids (boys)go out during the summer and wipe them out instead of leaving them to repopulate do you have the same problem near you.

When have you ever seen these 'boys' walk off these lands with big heaving bags of rabbits. Stop blaming it on the younger generation

when i was younger i done the ferreting during the summer, it wasn't until one day i was gutting a rabbit and she was full of young, that put me off hunting in the summer and now i keep it to the winter or mid september at the very earliest.

i started ferreting at the age of 11 with my uncle and loved every minute of it there were many of times i had seen people coming away in the summer months with rabbits. i dont do it in summer i leace it until the right months where there should be plenty

your right bud, that would be the main reason i dont do it,or catching a doe when shes at her lowest after having a litter, morally it doesnt

sit well with me, hunting is so much more than killing,.

well this is what im thinking i am constuntly thinking will it do any good. if i released 10 not alot i know but like you know they breed 3-4 times a year long term it would be better if left for 2-3 years.

when would you say is the best time is to release rabbits.

tried it they were breeding like mad at summer we put 15 ferreted bunnies behind my house out of sight left them alone all summer use to see 50plus every day, come winter mixy came and wiped them out none now should have lamped them at summer

i agree with the comments above, the "rabbit = vermin etc" but i do like the hunting more than the killing
