Marksman 934
Howdo guys.... well, after wor kid complaining about doing the write up "again" last week, I feel I have to put my 2p worth in so I fear it's my turn! After one of use having a successful lamping hour today (writeup here:- http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=130808 ) we continued our day with our usual ferreting session. We headed back into the field where we were lamping as I had seen around 8 bunnies dive for cover to the same bury. It's a bury we had only done last week and wouldn't normally have done it, however seeing what went in could only be a good thing ...right?? Wrong..... we netted up, entered a ferret in each end and waited..... and waited....and waited. Out came the finder to find one stationary 6ft down I picked up the spade and gave the floor a whack a few times. Then we heard it.....that telltale thunder and BANG!! that was the first one in the net Another 10 mins saw our second and last bunny from that set....So...what happened to the other 5 I saw go in there????.... Anyhoo....as the morning rolled along and we moved into another field things were looking grim..... 4 burys in and only 3 bunnies to count. After a quick cuppa the afternoon soon changed matters. The first one of the afternoon suited and booted the ferret was entered and after 5-6 mins still hadn't showed her face we located her 3ft down and so the dig ensued, with me at the business end of the spade..... I was soon down on top of the ferret and also not 1 but 2 bunnies holed up in a stopend....things were starting to look up :clapping: Before I bore you all to tears (if youre not already you've done well.... ) cutting a long story short and a few more burys later and after 2 escapees we ended up with 19 good sized rabbits in the bag..... Couple more for good measure... Needless to say the farmer is a very happy man, with over 60 bunnies cleared from just 2 fields in 2 weeks. Thanks for reading!
