Wed Morning earlier this week

Hi all,

A few notes, from a top mornings action on the Bay as we call it...

 

This was a nice opener this morning out wide off Carrum in 21mtr.

 

Gary found the mark first up as usual...

 

Soon after there was a bit of this happening

to the Nitro Distance Spin:

 

Bag limit wasn't too hard with a lot of distant yahoo's &

wooohooo's heard all around from boats way off

in the distance & one other closer by.

From what i could hear and was told from others,

not too many missed out on a bit of action this morning.

 

After the frenzied bite early up, it did become more of a

challenge to pin a fish as they had resorted to bouncing/bending,

the tips...

Smaller cut down baits, Silver Whiting were ok here.

With a couple more being taken & released.

 

Amazingly freshly landed onsite Garfish presented

with differing jewellery, ie: single hooks, twin hooks etc,

were merely pecked and played with.

 

Take the light gear rigged with a float and a long shank # 12 hook,

if heading out as there is a lot of Garfish here at the moment.

There is also small Couta as we were witness to them showering

out in patch's next to us throughout the morning.

 

Didn't seem to phase the Gars too much at all as Gary easily caught

20 or so using small pieces of Pilchard flesh a metre below the float.

 

A couple more were landed & released topping off a nice

morning out.

 

Close by a friend had over 25 fish of a similar size.

1.5 up to 3kg tops,

He released the surplus after bagging quickly.

He was lucky however to have a single fish of

10lb in the old scale amongst his action.
