Becarefull :unsure: , them bars look a bit wide. ;)

I did think the same Frank, I only have my big Hobs in there, but my Jills have been in there for a day and they didnt escape.

 

I am going to change the front anyway soon, That was all I had avalible at the time really and I needed it quick as I picked up my new ferrets that same day lol.

one i made a wile back (pic before it had a propper roof), i know its quite small bit it only holds 2 ferrets going to add a run soon. I mite change the mesh as i just used plastering mesh is it was what i had about at the time.

A few yrs ago i had a jill escape from a cat carrier in the car, she managed to squeeze her head through the tiny square grille on the front of the carrier, so i had to carry her the rest of the way as she did it twice :)

Phil,were the ferrets able to turn the wheel easily,it looks a bit heavy but obviously you had no problems with it.is it free spining,I might have a go at that,looks the way to keep em occupied whenthey're at home,Jigsaw

flipsake boys,, theres alot of handy men on here :thumbs-up: !!! i have lived in worse places than some of them hutches :) ... i took to buildin a hutch once but it was shite,, theres not much you can build when your only tools are your mums tweezers, scissors and a flat head screw driver.... maybe the A Team can help :)

sometimes they turn the wheel right round but usually just rock it from side to side.its very easily turned and the " wheel" bit is light.as you can see its only made from what we call fibre kegs,like a tough cardboard.

not all the ferrets go in it and they dont rattle round it like a hamster but it defo keeps them occupied.

 

i never would have thought ferrets would use something like a wheel untill i saw what keeps has.
