i have a pal who races at askern , he brings his dogs to mine for a bit of lamping to keen them up. they have all caught rabbits on the first slip. the hardest bit is to get them to come back if they miss a rabbit. they are only let off the lead to race round the track.

my uncle had an ex track dog, big fcuker, 27tts, he was really fast but on the turn he had a lot of ground to make up, like a lot though, he caught his fair share and he could jump too, a bit too well though, he cleared his run and got killed by a car.
