Got my variation through the other day and i was bored today so i thought i would go to my local gun shop,I picked up a Tikka t3 lite stainless in .223 With S and B optics all brand new and not cheap. i'll try and get a pic up tomoz if i aint too busy zeroing it in hopefully you will be seeing alot of old charlie and me on here soon.

Choice of 100 or 200 yards, which weight and type of bullet?

 

In terms of killing him, if you can hit the right bit, you'll kill him with that - certainly under 500 yards, and he won't argue if it's in the right place. Suggest you check the drop and windage on some targets, get used to the performance of the rifle. Until then, 200 yards is basically aim and shoot with a 100 yard zero, for most ammo in 223.

I'm guessing then that's the plastic tipped ones, which in this case are Nosler ballistic tips.

 

They'll fly to about 3 inches low at 200, and about 10 at 300. So on a fox, anything under 200 yards, aim centre of chest and shoot, pretty much. I suspect you will find them pretty accurate, too.
