DnN i quote your .....And im talking digging dogs only, not including the bolting types which some keep, as they are not expected to stay, and some can be called off. (true, they have their uses, but they are really a failed earthdog in my eyes)

Whats a failed earth dog? one that can be called off or a bolter ?? Neaps could be called off, but wouldnt leave it unless i shouted her out, and she was far from a failed earth dog (or bitch as it happens)And bolters as im sure you should know are worth there weight in gold in the right places and at the right times..

Hi Ali

In my eyes, a failed digging terrier is one that walks and cant be trusted to stay till dug to, and again, in my opinion, if a terrier can be trusted to stay till you get there, its a digging dog :victory:

And for everyone else, ive never had one that I could reliably call out, tho i wish to fuk mine did sometimes..... like when scrumpy spent 3 days in a limestone clink, not good

My oppoligies in advance if this subject is beneath some of you but ive been thinking about genuine 100% digging bitches.and add/titles that say both parents 100%..etc

it does seem to me that most the proper 100% digging dogs are "dogs",

and dogs are a preference by most...i say it seems, just my own observations..

is size the only factor or do you find although they carry the breeding pound for pound there not wired up the same as dogs?..

i see a few of well known lads if you like, breed good dog to semi skilled bitch and nobody questions it...

ive only had a few years under my belt as well as few dogs but im beggining to think a genuine 100% digging bitch is some once/twice in a life time thing...just after your thoughts on it or maybe you,ve had as many bitches as dogs make it.
