mubz2cool 4
hi all. Just a quick one to all owners of the remington 700... I have just bought one in 270. Do you find free floating the barrel/glass bedding the action makes a big differenc to accuracy? Anyone with any info would be much appriciated. SNAP SHOT 194
the biggest improvement you can make is to bed the action and free float the barrel. Quote Link to post
blackfox 9
Hey, i got a .204 ruger. It was a SPS Varmint but i changed the stock as soon as i got it, didnt even try out with the old stock. I bought a HS Precision stock off ebay.com had it sent over from the states, its a lot cheaper. I know that a lot of the guys on the guntrader.co.uk forum say to change the stock and trigger... i went on their advice I know its not really the answer your looking for but it did make it into a "free floating" barrel Cheers Sam Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I have an SPS Stainless in .308 with the X-Mark Pro trigger. I cut 3" off the barrel, stuck a P8 Compact on the end of it and adjusted the trigger. It shoots 1" easily with cheap PRVI 150g SP, does for me! Quote Link to post
provarmint 25
How does it shoot now ? If it's sub MOA then I don't think it's worth the cost for a proper job, if not then it is probably worth considering,I guess it's your deer rifle.Get a decent trigger and re crown your barrel.
