ive been considering taken my 7 month old bitch out on the lamp to give her one or two rabbits so tonight was excellent conditions so off i went with pup and mum in the van just incase got to the first feild i only took the pup in to the feild just to see wat she would make off it soon as i put the lamp on a rabbit bolted in front off so me so i slipped her she was straight on it and turned it towards me she coursed it well then it hit thick brambles so did she straight after it bit o a chase frew the brambles then back out then she lifted it before it could make it back in i was chuffed to bits first rabbit first kill so let her shake it abit then in the van to another part so again just took my wee pup i seen one in middle othe feild sittin really tite so took her up on the slip with the lamp [bANNED TEXT] on the rabbit soon as i got to a good destance i slipped her she ran straight in and banged it on the seat and just missed then she was straight back on it couple o nice turns and bang she struck it wat a strike she ran straight back to me with the rabbit squeling and her tail waging like mad so after loads off over the top praises from me i called it a night a and left happy as larry i cant explain the joy u feel when a pup u have bread out classes its quarry and fills the pot hers a couple o pics from tonight shes comin on a treat

AT 7& A HALF MONTH FOR ME ITS A BIT EARLY BENNY/ITS AN AWKWARD AGE AS AT THIS TIME OF YEAR MOST OF THE SQUATTERS ETC ARE DEAD OR HAVE WENT UP A GEAR.FEW RUNS COULD GO WELL BUT KNOWING UR DOGS LIMITS & HOLDING PUP TILL RABBITS HAVE WENT DOWN A BIT & UR PUPS A BIT STRONGER NEXT YEAR WONT DO IT NO HARM.ENJOY THE GAME THERE AINT NO RACE.

Your right mate its not just the age factor its the time of year now aswell, not a great time to be entering young pups, especialy once the gear gets some frost up there arse.

Looks a nice pup that benny, just as folk have said tho, steady away especialy this time of year, atb.

thanks for the advice lads i only slipped her on two and she nailed them easy so i think she coped with the harder rabbits just fine but she is still young so thats why she only had two runs and home and that will be her for atleast 2 -3 month i just took her oot as a wee tester to see how she coped and she exceded my expectation :victory:

GOOD 4 U BENNY /BUT ITS HARD 2 RESIST THAT 1 MORE RUN BENNY.ESPECIALLY IF UR NITE AINT WENT WELL.HINDSIGHT IS A WONDERFULL THING.TRY & IGNORE SOME OF THE "IF ITS GOOD ENOUGH ITS OLD ENOUGH!" BRIGADE. U TEND 2 FIND THEY HAVE HAD MORE LURCHERS THAN HOT DINNERS. GOOD LUCK MATE, COS IF U CAN LIMIT IT 2 A COUPLE OF RUNS WHEN THE GROUND IS BUSY WITH RABBITS,THEN UR A BETTER MAN THAN ME.
