mally 832
I've just been looking through the members gallery and a member has posted a photo that i took of my labrador Fern retreiving a partridge claiming it to be there dog!!!!! how sad is that... The other fact is that the image has been copied from this forum... I'll not be posting anymore images on here now without putting a copyright right through the middle... Rainmaker 7
Do dreamers even come in that stupid / with so much wishful thinking? Perhaps an anti looking for a bit of cover? Not the brightest of sparks, at any rate! Ian, ban the fecker. Do we really need that sort (either sort!) on here? We're not exactly short of members.

mally 832
I'm not after any payment, it's just the fact that he's saying it's his dog that piss'es me off. And he's altered the colouring trying to disguise the fact he's nicked the image..

Fabapocalypse 35
i know if you post a picture in a public place on t'interent you are offering it up for fair usage Are you though? You put images up because you want people to see them, not wander off with them under their arms (so to speak) and use them as their own. I think it depends what people want to use your image for; and they could at least ask first before they use it for anything and maybe give you a credit for it "Photo by..." doesn't hurt anybody, does it? You're on a forum, they can PM you. I've had images lifted from forums and used on other people's websites, mostly for charity or fundraising, so I end up not following it up; on one occasion somebody I knew bid in a charity auction for an image of his dogs printed up on canvas. When I saw it I thought, hang on, I took that! Which was a bit of a cheek, really. OK so that one went for charity but I don't know who put the image into the auction, so I don't know if they're using my images elsewhere or not... Nobody's actually deliberately claimed a shot of mine as their own but one or two have gently "forgotten" I took them when I've emailed them full-sized images when they've asked for them. Last year I got involved with a BBC photography project and had one of my images lifted off Flickr without permission and used on the web and in print promotional material by a local property developer. That one I did follow up and they (eventually!) coughed up a small sum for charity. Thing is I only take basic shots, for fun, with a compact camera. What happens to the pros with the proper gear taking proper photographs I really wonder about. Does watermarking work?
