Sure who'll ban him, Platini? I think not. There has been one or two obsecure references made to previous replays in the media today. Don't think it'll happpen as none involved major national teams. Strangely enough, one did involve Arsenal.

There should be a replay. Sepp Blatter, former president of FIFA emphasised the importance of FAIR PLAY to the world and used it as the FIFA motto. Now if him or any of his counterparts had the balls they would have Ireland play them again in Paris. It happened in the 1996 world cup qualifiers between Uzbekistan and Bahrain. The ref made a mistake and the game was replayed.

It's high time they introduced a video ref to top level football. I know they say that human error is part of the whole came, but it seems that there's a controversial point in nearly every match these days, that could be sorted with replays.

It works with other sports, why not football?

Its hard to believe footballs behind on that scene, it works in tennis, rugby and athletics. It would save a lot of problems. On the FIFA website it doesn't mention the handball.

The wouldn't be able to rig the games as easily Malt :) The sports that introduced video technology are a lot more honest, and seen to be honest. FIFA just talk shite about adding another official to the goal line, he's as capable of human error or bias as anyone else. Video evidence is the only way

Would we be hearing the same gripes if it was wee Robbie Keane who did the same thing to put the republic through :hmm: ...i dont think so.

Leave the great game that is fitba alone with your replays and what knows, when it comes to dodgy decisions you get some and you lose some...i dislike cheats as much as the next man but there you go it happens sometimes.....everybodys team have been done like a kipper at sometime but if you were being honest all our teams have had them in their favour too ;)

He cheated, he knew it, he was at it all game. Robbie Keane would have cheated the same way if he'd gotten away with it, controlling ball between hand and thigh, spin and in the back of the net.

You might not think so but I wouldn't watch Ireland play in the WC if we'd gone through by a cheat goal.

I remember Ray Houghton commenting that he'd cheat for Ireland or his club team if he had the oppertunity. What the hell ind of thing is that to say, coming from a player who scored some very very important goals (fairly) for Ireland, that's no type of role model to have.

I don't agree football is a great game, not anymore. There's something rotten in a sport where the powers that be are so resistant to fairness and openness.

So many reports today about young kids being let stay up late on a school night to watch the game, and going to bed not being able to understand why cheating is allowed.

So many threads on so many sites about what shitholes societies have become, are we surprised when these people are the rolemodels to children across the world. Should we be surprised when a lot of reactions are "Well, that's how it is", who's to blame? I think we all are for letting it pass so easy.

Football needs cleaning up, from the top down, starting with bellend messers Blatter and Platini.

Everyone knows it was handball, from Henry to Sarkosy have admitted as much. In that incident alone Richard Dunne was being fouled, two French players were offside, and three handballs were committed (Squillachi one, Henry two and three).

So no, I would be complaining if Robbie Keane had cheated, he tried, he trapped the ball between hand and thigh and was trying to spin and shoot, thankfully he got caught out. If that hadn't been caught, we'd be the cheats.

Im not talking cheats up for a minute..i agree it shouldnt happen but in all walks of life you get them..always have and you always will....some get away with and some dont.

IMO the foreign fitba players are way head and shoulders above us for it..im sure they coach it into some of them at a early age...we in the other hand are not so cute with it which im proud of,but i guarantee you this MrGalway....before your life is out your team whether it be country or club will get some right dodgy decisions in their favour and even although you disagree with it some of these will involve cheating, conning the ref or whatever....and thats a fact!

Afterall its only a daft game..aint it? :whistling::D
