That seems reasonable to me, I think mine was about that give or take £20, cost a lot more by the time I had the barrel screwcut for the moderator, mounts, scope, sling, bullets, cleaning rod, bore cleaner, rifle case, bipod! I had the stainless steel heavy barrel. Sometimes wish I had gone for the lighter barrel and slightly shorter, it is not one for quickly popping out the side window of the motor! But I went for a big PES over sleeve moderator which doesn't help. If you are using it for foxing go for a 8x56 scope. Cheers Dave Quote Link to post

Cheers Dave Schmidt & Bender 6 x 42 is best for FOXES and roe, 8 x 56 tooooooo BIG It gets personal and everyones situation is different...for example, a while back I was shooting 200 yards at Bisley on 6x mag and the guy next to me was on 24x And I take Foxes and Roe at anything between about 30-300yards so a fixed focus doesn't work for me...in addition, variable mag is very useful for checking distant objects, etc. etc. Like I say, that's what I need, everyones situation is different! Anyway...the Howa is probably a fair bet Quote Link to post
