dog gone lame

about 6 month ago my dog tried to jump the gate and got his leg stuck he limped for a day or so then he stopped then a couple of month later he was coursing and he went lame again on the same leg took him to vets the sed hed just knocked it so they didnt xray or nothing. just antibiotics for a couple of weeks. 2 nights ago a went out and it started again his back right leg at the joint the bone looks more noticable than the other leg any ideas wat it could be
