Kay 3,709
yeah i can relate to that. A little over 20 years ago as kids,we learned ourselves. We called albinos greyhounds. We called them bucks and does aswell.I had 7 ferrets, greyhounds. We done rats and rabbits all the time with them. There main food was bread and milk.Once a week a raw egg.A couple of times a week they got a bit of rough liver.Sometimes I would snare a bit of my mothers mince she had for the dinner.I dont feed them that way now.Alot of the pics you see of todays ferrets they seem to be a bit podgey. I am amazed at how the over all appearence of ferrets has changed in the last 15 yrs or so , i can honestly say that you never saw a fat ferret untill the show scene exploded in the late 90's , then again it could simply have been the fact you were naturally going to see more ferrets than your own if you went to a show Quote Link to post

andy s410c 61
Don't chuck it Rob,it's handy just to have as a back up or treat. At the end of the day it's each to their own some keeper's will swear by feeding dry 24/7,other's like mesell will use it but sparingly normally in the warmer months & some don't use it full stop. Kay 3,709
I remember a chap called davy jones who had a custom built set up he carted his ferrets round in to a few of the shows i went to in the late 90's , his ferrets were nearly all albino & looked so different from the ferrets most of the other folks had , he was one of the few who also worked his ferrets who was a regular at shows Quote Link to post
joe14 98
handfull of food? Ferrets eat every couple of hours as they got a short digestive tract. Mine have vitalin and they have raw meat on a night. I would have thought the bread & milk went streight through em cos ferrets are lactose intolerant. Quote Link to post

droid 11
Same thing's happened to kids. Years ago they worked up chimneys and down mines, and were fed gravel and sump water. They were fit as fleas. Now, they sit around with computers and games consoles, eat MacD's and crisps, and are as fat as a house side. Quote Link to post
