Grouping & My First fox with my reloads!!

Recommended Posts

Im very happy with the reloading results im starting to get.... im pretty new to this so everything has been a big learning curve.

My remmy 700 dosent like 40grs at all... 32s are ok but the 39SBKs are really starting to hit the sweet spot.

Here is a bit of grouping from sunday, 6 shots ate 120yards in very strong winds and shooting from the lamping disco sunroof, lol im shooting at a old Suzuki SJ door.

Im 1000% i will be able to get 6 shots touching of the bi-pod

Next is the first fox ive shot with my loads

load is:

Hornady brass

Remington 7-1/2 primers

27grn H322

39grn SBKs

OAL 2.285"

Not sure what the FPS is ...... around 3600 maybe?

Im gonna ask Father Christmas nicely for a chrono, ayone got any ideas on which one?

Cant wait to really hone the load :gunsmilie:

That's looking promising! What length is your barrel under all that mod?!

Edit... that's well over Hodgdon's max load - are you getting pressure signs? I suspect, from a 26" barrel anyway, that your velocities are nuzzling more like 3,8 or 3,9.

look for sticky bolt extraction, cratered primers, your shooting hot load there,

As for which chrono, get the chroy beta master.......... excellent for the money.... stay away from the alpha model its good but has more trouble reading the bullet in low light....

Snap.

Hey guys, ive had no burnt or damaged primers, i started with 26grns then pushed it up to 27.

They cycle fine, ive had no sticking.

I will hopefully get out again this week, maybe tomorrow if its fine weather and have another bash.

Gonna compare 200yards and maybe 250 or 300 to see what it can do. After Sundays outing Ive got about 50 of this load made up, im getting a bit addicted to it!

Logic, its a 26" barrel. the PES is a tad bulky bit it is a varmint rifle so its heavy anyways - ive just made it heavier!! lol

However it is good, i would deffo have another when the time comes (shouldnt be for a while as its made of stainless steel, very well made at that)

Most of my shooting is done from a Quad, truck or bi-pod. Not very often off the stick so weight isnt too much of an issue.

Cheers Sam
