FERRETING BOXES

Double box which holds 2 jills in each side.

Approximately 16 x 8 x 8 inches in size.

 

Use 3/8" plywood and get the rest of the bits from Wilkinsons.

 

 

I bought exactly the same off Rabpete on E-Bay, certainly does the biz for me :yes: and by the way, so do his hemp nets..... :good:

That looks like a very good carrying box.

 

How do you bow the back of the box without causing splitting? Any help would be appreciated!!

My box was a first attempt and if I was making another I would consider making a timber frame inside to prevent the plywood from splitting. As for the curve I used thin ply about 3mm or 4mm, cut it to size, pushed it in, then screwed it from one side to the other.

nice boxes those realtree jobs . timberproducts was at the midland on brian brindeds stall selling them and very well made they were, he shown me this little bow backed job that was almost triangular in shape that fitted under your coat , for those over the fence jobs :whistle: i realy liked that one. he also seemed a decent fella . had a good craic with him for a while :)

Yeah TP is one of lifes genuinely nice guys he actually donated 6 carrying boxes plus a realtree one for the ferret show at the Midland as prizes.

I also have one of those triangular "poachers boxes" myself and it's true it fits under your coat very nicely.

 

So thanks a lot Timberproducts, due to your help the show went down a storm and they were all well chuffed with the boxes.
