Geoff.C 0
You don't say how this gun loads, (breech or muzzle) or what caliber it is. I do know that some old guns of obsolete calibers, can be retained "off ticket", as even not deactivated, they are classed as an ornament/collector's piece. I think, if ammunition is still available for it, then you need it on your license.Best to check with your FEO to be sure. Quote Link to post
JonathanL 4
do i need to put an old gun ie over 100yrs old on my shotgun ticket been told if they are over 100yrs old there classed as antique and you dont need them on your ticket is this right thanks See the thread on the 12-bore damascus baralled gun. The antique discussion starts at about post 7. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=136506&st=0 Basically it's a case of the law clearly saying "no, antiques don't need to go on cert" and the Home Office saying "Yes, some of them do, despite what the law says." matt_hooks 188
I was always led to believe that if you intended to actually fire them, they needed to go on a cert, but otherwise, as long as they are above a certain age (100 years could be right, need to check that one) then you can hold them "off ticket" Is it a problem for them to be on your certificate? If you don't have them then of course it's an issue. Quote Link to post
