Barbel

Yesterday saw me at the River Mole in Surrey again, the river was still in flood, i arrived at 3pm but never had a bite till 4.45 nearly dark and landed a 5lb 2oz chub and then decided to move swims. Just over an hour later i cast into a tree above and got a load of stick off my mate, retied another hook this time a microbarb as the previous evening i lost a fish in the dark with barbless hook through giving it slack when it went into snags, ten minutes later rod bangs round and ended with a loverly 13lb 2oz barbel to finish the evening off, both fish caught on Spam. Pics coming soon as i'm waiting for another angler to mail them to me.

Well in there chap same size as my pb caught off the Trent, not managed to get out of late yet it's ideal conditions for them, so any 1 reading get down the river and fill your boots!

Thats a nice barbel mate, my first barbel session i had 2 on big lumps of luncheon meat one after another only small ones though,

Ah interesting Ive been told there are some very big barbel in some of cobham courts streches.
