HI mate I have one thing to say on the choice of SA shotguns,BENELLI,BENELLI, BENELLI,ok i know thats three things but if you can afford one GET 1, ive had my M1for 5 years now and can say honestly it has never jammed NOT ONCE,if you get a black or cammo synthetic ,the rust proofing coating on the barrel is very good I use mine for lots of coastal wildfowling, so understand what saltwater can do to a gun, in a v short space of time, get an M1 M2 OR SUPER BLACK EAGLE, you will not regret it,whatever you do do not buy an escort/hatsan they are garbage, with SA shotguns you get what you pay for,and as for 3 or 3.5 dont worry to much Ihave used both and personaly i prefer 3 inch, you should not shoot at geese over 40 yds and the longer ones only hold a tiny bit more shot(sometimes the sameor less)so why pay extra for a gimicky cartrige, also when you shoot normal shells you will not get patterns as good as the 3 inch gun cos of the vlong chambers, warm barrels

I've heard a few bad reports on Hatson - jamming, but thats probably just people who don't clean them regular !.

I'd spend a little more if you can afford - the Winchester Super X3 is 3.5inch and is an excellent gun. If you read the net you will find most reviews on this gun are top notch ! Give Malmo guns a call, this usually stock it.

The gun comes with stock spacers. Shims are also provided for drop and cast adjustment.

No experience of the Hatsan myself but, over on the wildfowling forum, there certainly seems to be a number of people who agree with Laurona 12 and reckon that it is false economy to go for a cheapie semi-auto. Benneli, Beretta and Winchester seems to be the favourites.

I repeat, do not buy an escort mate you will regret it I have a mate who bought one and while i admit he could shoot with it,the damn thing jammed from day one and he cleaned it religiously, and ive heard loads of similar stories, chances are few in wildfowling and when youve frozen all morning in your muddy hole the last thing you want is your gun to fail as the only chance of the flight comes over, benelli come with shims and spacers, so you can fit the gun to yourself, they operate on inertia not a gas piston, and thats why they are so reliable, yes they are quite expensive but if you look after them they will last a lifetime, get a 3" m1 or m2 and you can shoot everything from woodies to geese to foxes with confidence, and of course use steel in them, the only time i use steel is to shoot woodies for my hawk to eat, for duck ect tungsten or heavy shot is the best, and before anyone asks no i dont work for benelli lol,(wish i did)take my advice mate forget the rest buy the best. cheers CHARLIE CALLER.

the mossberd 935 is a magnum gun and will be no use for duck or pigeon, unless you want them well tenderised blasting them with magnum shells. ive heard they are a good gun but i think the gun hes after is an all rounder which will cost you money for a decent one, dont forget to add browning to your list, ive got a gold hunter and its pretty much faultless keep them clean and well lokked after and you wont have any problems

I have both a Benelli and a Winchester Super X3. I tend though to pick up the X3 first.

Both of mine are 3.5" so they can both handle any length of cartridge. They do however do them both in 3"?

The Benelli is Wetlands and the Super X3 is Mossy Oak Duck Blind. I believe that and Advantage Timber are the only two camo available in the X3?

I think Malmo Guns would get you one to order. I also think Swillington Shooting Supplies can also get them.

Cheers
