good shooting are you the lad of field sports britan

no.. but i was on the f word last week...

So where did he shoot that roe deer with the 1st bullet?

Did you let him finish it off or did you take the rifle off him?

You gave him a shit rest for his rifle IMHO?

hi mate, the first shot hit below the shoulder in the fore leg.. he did follow up with the second shot him self. My stalking mentor Jim was the one who was leading the stalking so he decided were the shot would be taken from.. nothing wrong with that rest though in my opinion... looked quit stable. ps my stalking mentor has 40+ years experience.

Well he should know then....................but i would not let a punter shoot off a fence post?

There must be shortage of deer was there.............if it took 2 days to shoot one?

no shortage of deer on that ground mate. As a stalker you know how important it is to be quite.. try stalking next time with 8 people.. dont forget we had the camra crew/sound man and director following us. Not easy so in my opinion we did VERY well. Just to let you know of the ground which is 3500 acres we shoot 80-90 roe, 45-50 hinds and 25 stags a year. We spooked quite a few because the others were quite loud. As a stalker you should know that the sticks are not always the best option when out in the field so you have to be as resourceful as you can. The post was a perfectly stable platform.

indeed... venison marsala? lol did you watch it mate? i have to say gordons cooking is FAB!

Yea i seen it and immediately recognised you. It was the lisp that gave it away

How you finding that jet-z on the 6.5?

lisp? the jet z is fantastic on my 6.5.. one of the best investments i have made. Makes such a difference, the jet z has mild recoil but with the jet z its a pussy cat. The noise reduction is very good too! are you thinking of geting one?

I thought as much.

3500 acres of land thats approx. a 2 mile x 3 miles plot and you take 130 deer per annum...................... bearing in mind you possibly leave another 130 deer that could be a world record mate?

it seems you are purposely trying to pick and start and argument.. what is your problem mate?

:hmm: surely a fence post is a much better/stable rest to shoot from.

WHY ?????????????

I have no problem with clients using whatever is at hand and would say 60% is off sticks standing 25% sticks kneeling, 10% gates trees or whatever is available and 5% off a bipod.(not included high seat shots).

I think everyone should use field craft and on alot of ground bipods are not the safest option and are nearly useless in most woodland scenarios.
