backfiller 0 Posted November 17, 2009 Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 just started ferreting few seasons back and was wondring where i was going wrong as i was not doing very well. the places i go are infested with bunnys but they just dont seem to be bolting we are as quiet as we can hardly making a sound but still dont catch many could it be the ferrets? or something else i am doing wrong? please help as i am getting desperate!!!! thanks very much. The one 8,481 Posted November 17, 2009 Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 It depends how old are your ferrets ?,how much work have they done? can you get somebody else with a ferret to come with you and run there ferret threw the burrows ? .And i reckon not every ferret makes the grade and the old saying a ferrets a ferret is pure tosh Quote Link to post
ace32 4 Posted November 17, 2009 Report Share Posted November 17, 2009 do you have a dog to mark,i go to a few dif places,and i know for a fact there is thousands of rabbits in these areas,at night when we shoot,but they dont allways go down dureing the day,loads of sets,but nobody home,its the same all over this year,mainly down to the weather,if you are useing a dog to mark,you will have to get some one with experienced ferts to try the sets after yours have been down,or let them do the sets themselves,cause some times another fert wont bother if it smells another strange fert,your ferts might not be going deep enough into the sets,oki doki,thats my tuppence worth,ian Quote Link to post
