fensaluki 35
well done mate and good on her but be carefull fella shes still pritty young to be trying to work the lamp....It would be a shame to spoil a decent dog like her for the sake of a race or two now and messing up her entry. Up to you fella and I'm not trying to put a spanner in the works,Just seen it befor and wouldn't want you to bugger a good dog up. Best of luck with her mate ATB Quote Link to post
border lad 1,047
I have 3/4 grey/1/4 beardie he is only 11 months old,he is coming on nicely, I have been encourageing him to hunt from a very early age, he collected his first rabbit, back in july, and he has steadily, come on since then and has had a couple on the lamp as well, this morning he was hunting, away himself I was standing, on the roadside, hunted the rabbit up ran it about 25 yards and a great strike, went head over heels, with the rabbit in his mouth, so give her time, do not try to overburden her although a bitch comes on bit more than a dog, there is plenty time for her, ((( keep her sweet, if you sour her, its a long way back, if they ever get back,, wish you the best in hunting, Quote Link to post
martinhalli 735
thanks for the advice i dont intend 2 rush her just thought id give her a few slips on the lamp see how she goes, would you wait longer or try her at about 7 months? Quote Link to post
border lad 1,047
In my opinion, keep her up for another couple of months, and just pick your runs, and keep her sweet, just looking at her photo, she looks very close to the greyhound,so remember, her joints, tendons, muscles, they are all so tender and not fully developed, as yet, there is plenty time, you know she has the ability to catch, some people will tell you different, run them on, I have seen good stock damaged, before they are 14 months old, it is your dog you know your animal, act accordingly, Quote Link to post
