Chickens4ever05 22
well woke this morning and the weather was clear and calm so I grabbed the ferrets, whippets and dragged the mrs along to try and get some snaps. we headed to a place in Leeds, the first place we walked to is on an old railway and I new there was a small warren with 4-5 holes last season which held a few, when we reached it, there were only 2 holes, and they were far bigger fresh excavation with alot of fox s**t out side the holes and no sign of rabbits, I thought better of it just case, we then head over the field which is alot greener than last time wse were there, there is a small 2 holer under a tree in the middle of the field, this is a good one to give the dog a real run and also nice to try out one of the kits I bred and kept back for her first go, both dogs were marking strongly. so I collard up little Jazz and entered her within a few minutes a rabbit bolted this was a cracking run both dogs sticking to it tail like glue. They applied the pressure and the rabbit jinked, little Dodger stayed with its and turned the rabbit again and again, after about 8 turns the rabbit was back on the straight and Dodger made ground and picked it up with a nice stike, was over the moon with the little fella, it made my day. I could have goine home then, I asked Rachael if she got plenty of photos, she said NO as she was rushing and couldn't see when they went over the hill, so here is the ones she did get I then head Rach shout about a second in the net as she went to grab it, it slipped the net and was off. the dogs gave this a run but it was soon safe in cover. as we were moving on I noticed another rabbit Sat out about 10 feet from the hedge I walked up and it just squatted, as we got closer it jumbed up and Tod Nailed it within about a foot of its seat. we continued on and it stated to go bad, we netted up a small warren and enterd my silver jill almost insantly a rabbit bolted on the other side of the fence, Rach then went round and netted the two holes we missed, moments later a second bolted into a net number three in the bag, the last set we did was the worst about 8 holes, I enetred the jill and waited, and waited, and waited abit more, after 15 or so I tought bugger im digging. I located her 6ft, well I started to dig and dig, and afted about 35 mins I broke through to find her, clawed up, I was struggling to reach inside the hole where the rabbit must have been so I made the hole wider, but could not reach the rabbits. whilst I was digging Rach must have got Bored and started taking senic photos ;D I was full of mud, and nettel stings, and just wanted to go home. when we got home did the EOD shot and there were only 2 of my rabbits in the bag, I blamed her but she ritely said I carried the bag back to the car so I must have dropped it. never mind Dodger had a cracking run with good strike, and added another to his tally, so this little dog is showing good promise for the rest of the season. Thanks for reading Tom Quote Link to post
