I may get a warning for this but I can live with one. Which would youse guys prefer:

1.) A gorgeous young lady wearing Top Hat, Tail Coat, Boots and a Whip or

2.) Same lass in Wet Suit, Wellies and a One Wheeled Bike?

I only ask because I'd like to know...

Ric

I think you are all being really horrible to me. What's wrong with a one wheeled bike? Apart from if you fire a Weatherby 458 when you're riding one?

Boo-hoo. I am going to go and play with my small furry animals. Last seen gathered together in a cave and grooving with a Pict.

YES! The first time I heard Floyd was at Loughborough Uni. The lead singer was a guy called Syd Barrett! Set The Controls for the Heart Of The Sun. Well chuffed that someone picks up on the reference! :notworthy:

Its an age thing Ric.

The yoof of today wouldn't get it.

I've managed to educate my lad in the ways of the Floyd.

Took him to see a tribute band called Breath, my mate was playing rythm guitar. If you closed your eyes it could've been them.

Didn't Syd die recently?

Bands like Floyd are few and far between.

Yeah. The Saucerful of Secrets tour they were on when I first saw them was the last one before Syd fried his brain with acid. They weren't big enough to get a booking at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester!!!

Were Breath playing Loughborough Town Hall? I heard a good Floyd tribute band there 4-5 years back, but I can't remember their name. Old age and general decrepitude creeping up on my blind side . . . Not to mention a lot of psycho-active substances of both herbal and chemical origin.

Colud've been them. There were a couple of tribute bands from around this area. The other band were/are called "time to breathe" They were not purists like breathe but were/are very good all the same. They've played most venues around the N'hants, Leics and Warks area. I saw them a good few years back at the road menders in Northampton.

there is a clip of "breathe" in India on you tube somewhere. They only have a stripped down band now tho'

Well says I to me, if any one can hijack a thread it ought to be the original poster. The most impressive tribute band I've heard was AB/CD. But I don't really rate "tribute" bands. The last band I worked with were a "cover" band. :guitar: We never tried to imitate the originals. How da fuk do you imitate Hendrix playing Purple Haze? Or Otis Redding "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay"? What you got when you heard No Mod Cons was our version played with respect.

On the other hand I have a recording of Leon Russell playing "Hard Rains Gonna Fall" at the concert for Bangla Desh in Madison Square Gardens 1966 . . . That track makes a liar out of everybody . . Russell's voice strips the skin off yer back.

Ah Well

PS it's "stethOscope". Technically known as a "Sphygmamometer"
