LDR didn't "try" to do it; he did it ! Last years comp was run off and this years will be ! I'll help as much as I can until it's finished. Yes there has been problems, thats what happens when ordinary working guys try to run a nationwide competition on a friendly, relaxed basis. Poeple like yourself, with vast expeirience, should be helping, not crabbing ! All I can say, is the actual running in the comp and meeting some top lads has been great; far better than reading all the shit that has been posted by people who didn't have the bottle to enter in the first place ! Good luck with next year !

Nah mate, it's only one or two uneducated know alls who are crabbing !! I've met and had some great nights out with lads from ths comp, Mally, The Bolt, Farmer1, Lamp + Battery, Dogs + Natives, Single handed and his mate, Woodga, Dotty, and others. I've had people stay at my house, and I've stayed at their houses. There is a lot more goes on behind the scenes than is told on these sites !!

gin you can only [bANNED TEXT] what you get told and well thats about it and you can only [bANNED TEXT] what expeirence you have about running dogs , running any comp isnt going to be easy unles you are stringent and well ive never run for money in pool comps any comps for fun to run for fun is fun put money in and it can sometimes ruin it beleive me but i think you should no that , any way on wards and up wards to next season game and hope its agod final plenty game crack and both parties happy winner and loser

Well, thats part of the problem; "you can only go on what you got told" !!! I;m a firm believer in "never believe what your told, and only half what you see" !! Actually I'm talking to someone on the 'phone at the minute, who I consider one of the best dog people in the country, and I think I'll take their advise, and just keep doing what i do, and ignore the idiots ! therel be good prizes a bit money and a bit for everyone , when im away coursing over by ill be bringing stuff home for prises ,l you dont me my old mate when it comes to the hunting game nobodys fool believe me ask anybody thats had a walk out with me and no eejit or i wouldnt have what i have in life ,and the dogs in my kennel ye let it lie going be busy all summer lobster fishing and a few pups to bring on , but hopefuly if i get the [bANNED TEXT] land it will be like a cocker final or the old feild trails that is the lurcher feildtrails if it cant come up to that standard no piont mate ,be fun if it comes off as part of the funding will be to fight the ban and the unjust ways they are treating guys like my self who love the hunt in what ever form all the best

Agree.I think the hassle these lads have had is bang out of ORDER.A lot of time and effort goes into the comp.Why sit in hindsight and say i could have done better.I just dont get it

Everyone I have spoken to this season has said the same thing where are all the rabbits?? theres still wee pockets of them here and there, but everyone has noticed their decline, from young lads just starting out in the game to old hands who have been at it for years. Some areas have literally been wiped out VHD perhaps??? Theres a bit local to me you used to see rabbits sitting outside the holes a few years ago at most times of day, the holes arent even active anymore! theres moss weeds etc growing over them the rabbits have vanished without trace. The last time me and chester had a shine out we were lucky if we saw 10 rabbits in fields where we previously had nights of 20 and 30 and plenty more left over for the next trip out. So to those who are critisizing, unless you can literally pull rabbits out a hat, most folk are going to be struggling to run a comp, not to mention the foul weather the worst weve seen in some 20 years lost 2 full months to ice and snow so go easy people its only meant to be a fun thing anyway, perhaps next year do it for a trophy and bragging rights with no entry fee so people cant moan about it, (but they will probably find something else to moan about instead lol)

Let me just say, this is LDR's competition, he runs it and makes all the decisions ! I help in any way I can, as do other lads, getting trophies, using their land, etc. It's a shame some arseholes can't help but complain; especialy when they didn't even enter ! Anyone who has entered and has a complaint will be heard and their complaints taken on board...but for christs sake, give the lad some credit for organising a competition that is the ONLY legal way we can test our dogs !!

if people give huim a hard time without due reason well they are no better ,and all this bad texing shitty phone calls is no good either , and life goes on , as for legal i never ever thought of a lurcher is a legal tool nor did the miners and nite time snerpers i was brought up with ,i do think its bad abusing people on phone and they should be named and shamed or there gripes be heard and taken in, ive been at the game along time , and no what kids are ionthese computers so it can be difficult , all the best

cause wether dogs pool working for yourself mate you have to go out with a strategdy if you are going to take the publics money and put a show on, well a fishing contest ,not pool, its just a phrase max , im putting you up as one of the judges mate so you bettr be the real deal lol, s h says youre a decent sorts thtas enough for me , was away with one of the dogs checking a few bits there was enough for a nites lamping with a few dogs , all the best ,

When your talking field trial stuff whin i suggest you employ the services of a gundog trainer. Im your basic point and slip man, an ex daytime coursing enthusiast my joy came from conditioning a dog to run the ultimate quarry a daytime hare, so count me out. LDR how about a dozen or so of us who just get on with it having a bit of a comp between ourselfs next year. This way you know there will be no headache. The shield we purchased from the off as the prize plus a presentation jacket. 50 each entry to spice things up , same format as always as its strait forward ,3 hours alternate equal slips. Comp to start sep and final to be ran before 1st week in dec is out. If your dog is injured when you are due to run your out and your opponent gets a bye. Keep it to Pm's between those thats in, this way no crabbing or abuse can enter the fray.
