well , i have just got home the wife and girls picked me up from the airport, its was some flight home a real rough landing because of the weather , i nearly shit myselfcry.gif , i did say a little prayer when we started to descend and come into land .

well i can say it was quite some stay with sounder, the scenery was unreal , one of the foxes i shot was the biggest i have ever seen .

i think its the one in the photos on its own with me holding it ...also i could not belive how good the condition of the foxes were in ,there were 1or 2 that i would have liked to have bought home with me to have set up .

on the thursday morning, ray said we were heading out on some of his best stalking ground and he was hoping to suprise me with something , he would not say what is was , he kept on driving up and up the mountain, i thought we were going to end up in the clouds ,we were that high up. he pulled up a track that opened out onto a great big bog land that went for miles with forests all around it ..

he drove down a good wile then pulled up and glassed it , i just thought we were looking for fallow , he said right quick were away off we went across the bog with me traling behind by a good 50 yards and sweating like mad , he got near a great big rock and looked over slowley and then turned to me and told me to get down and come real slow ..

when i got to him and got my breath back, he told me to look over the rock slowley , i did and when i looked my eyes nearly popped out my head icon_eek.gif there she was a red hind toast.gif my heart was in my mouth , he said take your time , i lined up on her and pulled the trigger and down she came , i dont know who was the fastest out to her me or ray laugh.gif ....

when the adrenalin had gone , it then hit me hmm.gif how the f**k are we going to get this beast back to the truck , but we did and after my legs were like jelly lol ...

so that was one of the best days i have ever had out hunting ,,,thanks sounder,i will never forget it

Look's like you had a cracking time Wag! and good on Sounder and friends for making you so welcome good.gif Looks like a top week and they showed you a bit of everything?

Just noticed from the photo's, your left handed but using a right handed semi-auto. How did you get on with it? was it OK to shoot?

All the best

Luke.

P.S. I haven't forgotten about the trip up to you, it's just the Firearms Officer still hasn't been round yet censored.gif I tried calling but got no reply, left message's etc then sent them an email, which they finally replied to, said their very busy at the moment and it could be up to another 6 weeks??? At this rate it'll be Dec/Jan till I can come up. So I'm sorry for the delay.

i normally shoot with a with a right handed auto , i have done so since i started shooting many moons ago , i never notice the empty case eject in front of my face , i did try a left handed AL391 beretta for a bit but could not get on with it because it seemed cock handed to load with me being use to loading the right handed auto ...

no worries on the trip out ,just give a pm when you ready , its a shame its not now been away for 1 week and there is about 25 to 30 thousand pinks our side my wife said they ahve been feeding on the field most of the week but because i am back home they have moved on just my look lol..

JD, these boys are serious about there digging, we had two good digs on the monday , the second dig of the day was some dig, it took us a good 3 half hours to get down to the fox , i have never dug ground like it there were rocks as big as dust bins in the ground , we broke 3 shovels on that dig ,so that tells you what the ground was like , but i think i broke 1 leaning on it lol ...

also i have never been out digging before and gone home with my sides hurting through doing that much laughing , i met scent on the monday and coaster both from the site, scent had me laughing all day a top man he is, also

i cant forget jamie the human JCB, he never stopped digging , he was a bit wild when he started swinging the pick axe tho lol... there is a pic of me scent and jamie stood at the side of the hole sounder was having a david baily moment and we had to stop digging to pose for the camera ....

i have never been away from home before were the people have made me so welcome, these are all top people in my eyes ..thanks again lads for a great days digging ,,sorry also irish lassie , that lady is not frightend to work her dogs in front of men and knows how to handle them to top lady ..
