ive got no preference but am currently using poleys i had of a very generous guy on this site...gotta be honest they are the the best ferrets ive ever had and the hob in particular is outstanding...have used him for three seasons and to date he has never killed down...if they wont bolt he dragges them out, he will also come out of the hole and walk back to his box and jump back in and is 100% with the dogs...so is a real asset in brambly areas...hopefully he got a good few more seasons in him...

Finding a light coloured ferret does make it easier to see, using a black eyed animal, well I have found that the senses on one are a bit more alert than the albino animals. (the albino's will always be my choice.) (not that they are less of a hunter, just a little slower in the light!) (does not matter a fraction underground in the dark, where no one can see the colour of there eye's, or coat!)

I have a mixed team, and I keep and use albinos, poleys, sandys, silvers and black eyed whites. But saying that my preferance is for albinos, for no other reason really than I was brought up with them and have always had them.

I prefer the look of sandys but will always go for a worker first hence i have 3 albinos and 1 polecat!

As i dont know anyone with a working sandy but looking to bring in a sandy hob if i can find one from good workers! As for sex i have found a hob and jill worked together is a good combination for me!

i have a polecat jill and a jill out of her which is albino, both work well. the guys i go with have a mix of jills and hobs( hobs disturbing the net more imo) and they all work well too.( eleven ferrets in all).

white and sandy are better to see in cover but my poley jill is the favorite :clapper:

as long as they do the job i'm not fussed about the colour.

happy ferreting all.
