Duffus traps full of soil

Recommended Posts

I have recently gone to using duffus traps, having previously used the talpex,However I do not seem to be having the same catch rate when using this type of trap.

The duffus seems to be getting full f soil and clogging up.

any ideas as to what I am doing wrong???

having made sure the tunnel trap is set correctly and that no soil or anything is in both tunnels entry and exit.

I am at a loss as to why this is happening :(

Has the trap been sprung also?? Sounds to me like Mr.Mole is backfilling your trap......

are you firming the traps in ? if they are loosely fitting they"ll back fill em and make sure that you cover your traps in about half inch of soil

Yes I have firmed the traps in and also covered the trap up,but it keeps getting backfilled,I also cleared the tunnels before fitting the trap

traps are working ok,but its just all the backfill,When using the talpex and scissor traps my catch rate is ok,but since using the duffus its not as good, and my problems are that the mole seems to be backfilling.

anyway maybe its just me,Im doing something wrong and need to know why the mole is backfilling the trap any suggestions

A mole will only backfill a trap if it realises its there... the only thing the mole should touch as it comes along-is the trigger, and if it doesnt fire at that moment, then its gonna back up and fill the trap.
