Superb round mate... I use .22 hornet.....222rem.......& 22.250 AND FIND THE .222 the best ALLROUND round certainly of the .22 centerfires

Great for foxs and also great for roe in Scotland ( as long as you shoot within your limits) but that goes for all shooting hey?

Hi,

Your views on .222 for fox and roe.

Bob.

I will let you know tomorrow. I'm picking up my new .222 brno and can't wait to get started. I have only been waiting from January for my FAC to be returned, but hey thats another storey.

I'm also changing my 12g o/u for a new beretta semi auto stone coat gold.......What a weekend

.222 is my Foxing calibre of choice, hasn't let me down as yet and I'm sure that given the chance it'll shoot far more accurately than I can ever hope to ;)

I reload BTW.

It's not that accurate, I missed that rabbit by a mile that time I came up to yours. Nothing to do with the shooter BTW, honestly... :whistling:

The 222 was my first cf rifle & i had an estate rifle in a bruno fox it was great rifle i shot alot of roe & foxes with it. The 222 was at its limit with the roe at 250m IMHO but a great wee round for fox/roe/crows etc & nice to homeload. I am a velocity chaser so now have the real mans .224 cf in a 22.250 & wont change that for nothing other than an AI22.250

Hi Derry Boy,

It is going great thanks. I just ordered a new swarovski scope 4-12x50 with the plex rectical for it.I will post some pics when I get it all set up. I find the 50g Remmington shells are pretty accurate out to 180 yards or maybe i'm pretty inaccurate after 180 yards either way I'm very happy with my new toy. I'm shooting 3" groups at 180 yards so hopefully with a better glass and a renewed confidence that will improve.

Must say the Beretta AL391 is also excellent the only thing is, on the day I went to pick it up I brought the wife along with me for the spin, once we had the paper work done at the club we went on to the 40 bird sporting shoot set up where she went on to beat me by 4 birds. Not a good start and got a serious ribbing from the local clay club lads. I put it down to the excitment myself :icon_redface:
