dh90 6
Well just got permission off the landlord to get a dog (took a while) now need to decide what i want. Been thinking for a long time but still cant decide. It will be mainly used for rabbits ferreting and lamping but would like somethin that could maybe take the odd charlie and long ear if the ban was ever lifted. The dog must be small around 21-22" Im thinking either: 1/2 cross beddy whippet 3/4 whippet 1/4 beddy or 1/2 whippet 1/4 beddy 1/4 grey The ground is quite hard where i ferret so will need something with good feet. What would your choice be? Realy cant decide, any replies are much appreciated. Cheers, DH Quote Link to post

cassshantia 16
i personally would go for a full whippet maybe a non pedigree one at thas they tend to be a bit bigger 21+ inches they have great reports on the rabbit side and as for the ban they will take larger game if entered properly Quote Link to post

dh90 6
Seen some pups in for sale.. the dam is beddy greyhound and sire is working whippet... what you's think? what height would you expect them to make? Quote Link to post
amtg 0
3/4 whippet 1/4 collie 22`` 23``is what u want. i have a collie whippet first cross very clever, pure whippet 23`` to big for racing . and four 3/4 whippet 1/4 collie lurhers a week old , two will be for sale. i think more whippet than collie is better, so much faster. an 1/8 or a 1/4 collie in a whippet just gives it thicker legs better for crap ground. Hurlock 114
I agree with the boys on a collie x hound or collie whippet, especially if your doing plenty of ferreting. The collie will give the dog good feet and will be easier to train especially if its your first dog mate. Hurlock Quote Link to post
