The Execution of Gary Glitter

Recommended Posts

Its still law here for treason , they should remember that when they catch terrorists and impose it

Your right it is and they should.

The BNP state if they are proven guilty by way of dna etc then the monsters will be excecuted, IMO this is a massive reason i am a member. These monsters give there rights up the day they touch these inoccent children and distroy there lifes for good. Same as forein criminals if they cant respect our culture (RESPECT) and our laws then theres no place in Britain for them.

Lets be honest here who doesnt stand for most things the BNP are saying???

Help them by giving them your vote, if you think there right then make the effort, lets get the left wing on the ropes for once.

The death penalty has no place in the civilised world, In the not to distance past we have has innocent people released from imprisonment who could have face the death penalty had it been available to the justice system, so I think the world is a better with it.

I totally agree that the death penalty has no place in a civilized world, but until we live in one, i think it has a limited threat as a deterent, and a major attribute as a way of disposing of Uncivilised scum.

Do not kid yourself that we live in a civilised world, we don't!!! if you don't believe me, take your kids for a wander round some of the inner city estates at one in the morning if you dare, it really shouldn't be a problem in a "civilzed world". But would you do it?

When it comes to scum like child molesters/killers the law should take a step back....the c**ts should be locked in a room for a few hours with the family of their victims to sort it out imo.

Any weapons the family take in should be ignored with a blind eye and they should have full impunity from the law after the aftermath....what will be will be ;)

There are no capital offences in the UK (and Isle of Man) any longer, and that includes treason. The Crime & Disorder Act 1998 removed capital punishment for the last two remaining civilian offences (treason, and piracy with violence), and the European Convention on Human Rights also prohibits any member state from administering capital punishment (article 13). In an ideal world I'd be all for the death penalty, certainly in cases of crimes against children (abuse, murder) and other such atrocities.

However, it's all very well to say hang 'em high if they are convicted on 'solid' evidence and 'beyond doubt'. But as many know all too well, every single innocent person and group ever convicted and sentenced to many years in prison later to be released on appeal and/or new evidence (miscarriage of justice in other words) was also convicted during trial on evidence 'solid' enough to be 'beyond a reasonable doubt'. They'd have been dead under another system. Not a simple matter, unfortunately. Lest I come across as liberal (I'm anything but), I again stress I'm all for shooting or hanging the scum - it's making sure that's what they are that presents the problem.

The death penalty isn't as much of a 'maximum deterrent' as is made out, else Saudi Arabia and the USA wouldn't have a murder rate, let alone one so high.

... Bring back the cane into schools and parents should give the teachers support instead of if you touch my child mentality ect. The country could be turned around in a couple of years.

I'm all for kids being disciplined in school, and parents should help back teachers up by making sure their kids behave, but if any teacher inflicted any sort of physical punishment on any of my kids I'd leather the head off them.

I'm quite capable of disciplining my own kids, anyone else raises their hand to my kids then we're falling out in quite a serious way.

I watched it last night, and the only thing it's made me think is that I wish Glitter really was hanging from a rope.

I personally think that sex cases and people who kill for no reason have no place in society so need getting rid of. Ian Huntley, Roy Whiting the Scum who killed Baby P, Jeremy Kyle  (OK I wouldn't execute Kyle but I hate the c*nt) serve absolutely no purpose in this world at all IMO and don't even deserve the right to breath the same air as other normal human beings so need hanging. But in saying that, there is still corruption in our police forces, and there is still miscarriages of justice so would it be wise to bring capital punishment back?

The BNP say they would reinstate capital punishment, and as much as I would happily applaud the execution of some of our most depraved dregs, It'd be a travesty to see innocent people executed for something they didn't do.

So what do you reckon? should we have the death penalty in this country?

No. For the reason you suggest. If the state kills an innocent man it can't bring him back. I do feel very strongly that we should have "Life without parole"

Ric

Ahhhh. The voice of reason.

A life in prison with no prospect of release is torture enough......not to mention the grief they'd get from the other inmates!

I think if we introduced it now, I think a lot of violent crime would drop. I think a lot of cases where there's stupid kids carrying around knives for "protection" who end up killing another kid would decrease a hell of a lot.

I think the death sentence should only be used if there is DNA evidence or actual footage of the accused committing the crime, you know physical evidence so solid that there is no way the accused could argue the case.

An admission alone to a crime shouldn't be enough though, which would save people from being executed if they had been forced to admit to crimes they didn't really do.

If you commit a crime like Huntley and Whiting have done where there is solid evidence as well as solid DNA evidence to back up the case then the death sentence is appropriate.

I would like to know what foundation these monsters have to murder children, is it in their composition from an early age, and are they born killers. If so, then the death penalty is of no consequence to these types of people, they will kill and satisfy their need regardless of what penalty is in place.

There must be another method to punish such atrocities and the only sensibly one that I have heard so far is that of chemical castration.

In 1820 when in England and Wales the gallows were experiencing their busiest period with over 200 capital offences on the statute books records show that the majority of people sentenced to hang had actually witnessed a public hanging. That slightly takes the edge off the deterrent theory.

Another angle to consider, and this was pointed out to me by a high court judge out stalking with us one day, you have always got to leave room for negotiation and manouvre, IE, imagine the scenario, a gunman is holed up in a school having shot and killed half a class of pupils and their teacher, he is now threatening to kill the rest and then himself, there's no way to talk him out if he's coming out to certain death, might as well do the rest and then himself. If he has an alternative however he might be talked out and half a class of children saved.

Arson of a Royal Navy dockyard is still on the statute.......but yes agreed it has been superseeded...but not gone! Repeal of the latter would mean the rectification of the former.
