bingweed 0
Hi all, Done a lot of moleing over the years, usually to get permission to go after rabbits. You know the thing, you scratch my back and I scratch yours. Have thought off doing it proffesionly in the past but I have no idea about pricing it all up. Would you ask so much per mole or price it as a whole job ? And how much, am in Swansea South Wales. If I do this it wont be half arsed but all above board and legal. Thanks for any advice. ratattack 111
Not really worth trying to do it full time, it will cost you too much in all the public liability insurance and all the other guff that you need to do it that way. You will need a lot of moles in a close proximity to make it worthwhile. If i do any mole work it is per mole or in exchange for shooting etc. Quote Link to post

I'm a British Traditional Mole Catcher using only traps. I have golf courses, country estates and private individuals within my portfolio. I price normally by each mole caught and my price structure varies dependant on distance, ranging from 10 -30 miles. With larger clients like estates it is done on a contractual basis - where a price is agreed at the beginning of any one period - normally a year and payment is made monthly. So I say to the gent in South Wales (I would not tell you this if you lived near where I do) go for it! I think it is a wonderful way to make a living and yes you do need insurance - but it's not that bad. Liversalts Quote Link to post

bingweed 0
Thanks for the advice boys, given me plenty to think on. Self employed doing windows at the moment so I think I could start up part time to start with and see how it goes. Any thoughts on getting around the fields, 4 x 4 or a quad, as at the moment as I only do it to get permission I tend to walk . Cheers. Quote Link to post

Quite some time i expect, do you get much of it from the BTMC websites?? You must live in a mole rich area to be able to live off it Quote Link to post
trappa 518
70% of my work is moles, 100% this time of year. Living in a very rural area helps. I could work 24 hrs a day 7 days a week from september to february but trapping on agricultural land isnt fun, its feckin hard work and when the winter comes its nearly broke me a couple of times!
