welsh-dragon 6
It all depends on how quick you dropped his weight to, if you dropped it drastically, they will scream to. Has he killed yet.. it very hard to give an opinion over the net with out seeing the bird and knowing the "in's and out's" of what you have been doing and your training process, isnt there someone local that can help you out. all the best Quote Link to post
ferreter.al 22
alright mate, havnt kept hawks for a few years but the others are right.he is a food imprint and screams for you to feed him up.im not sure if this will ever stop as i have never had an imprint harris before but i have was given a kestrel once and that just skreamed all day, nightmare i know but just see what happens over next few weeks.it might calm down when its killing more regularly for its self!. alvb with your bird and i hope it gets sorted. farlap 19
I have the same......in fact its the reason he came to me, because previous owner simpy couldnt keep him in his built ip area, and as we have no one to complain about the noise, then hes fine here. hes silent hunting which is all I care about. If you get neighbour problems then I think you may have to consider the problem nore seriously im afraid. Quote Link to post

Boredom sets in with all these birds expecially when being held back with their weight virtualy kept at Hunting condition, P/R birds can be set off too this way, hearing other birds screaming can do it! and some while being flown around adult birds in their first year could also fire up! a part creche Reared bird needs to be got out and Hunted with regular kills to make it grow up a bit and not keep looking to you for food! basically this goes for all of them realy......
