JohnGalway 1,043
Decisions, decisions. Matey wants to go shooting bunnies tonight. But, I've just looked at the forecast... "Widespread rain and drizzle this evening and early tonight. A clearance will reach all parts around midnight and winds will slacken. Cool with lows of 5 to 7 C." A-ha-ha-haaah.. that's not going to be either fun or productive. But, this morning, three shiney new gun licenses dropped through the letter box. Two were renewals for my .223 and 12ga, but, the third was my .17HMR license, oh yes! Such a tough decision.... Edited November 12, 2009 by JohnGalway Quote Link to post

JohnGalway 1,043
Clerical error, that's what. I'd say we did a two hundred mile round trip. It bucketed down, and I mean heavy can't see the fecking road rain, most of the way up there. That's grand we reached the promised land in good enough time, considering. Looked around the shop, poked about inside the counter picking out HMR ammo and cleaning gear. When my turn came James, the owner, disappeared into the gun room and comes out with my HMR barrel. Got your license? Yeah sure, here. Thems not the right numbers.... ..... .. . Anyway. We worked out that seeing as part of the license serial number is stamped on the receiver and the other part stamped on the barrel, someone entering the information (not me, I was very anal about it) glazed over the first few digits and entered the old .22lr barrel number where the new .17HMR barrel serial number should have been entered. So, less than 24 hours into my new license which should mean I shouldn't have needed to see the cops for another thee years, where am I going tomorrow? The bleedin' cop shop.
