The Smithfield Collie Deos anyone have any of these dogs (do they exist) or xs from them, i aquired a young lurcher and was informed that this kind of dog was used in its creation would love to see others of this cross or pure collies if there is any.

there are no true smithfield collies left,there were some that got exported to australia nz tasmania and the americas to drove but were eventually crossed into local dogs to improve working qualities of existin dogs eventually producin breeds like autralian cattle dog etc. jeff burrel breeds a norfolktumbler which was bred with the smithfield collie way back [apparently] which this line occasionaly throws the smithfield type

cheers for the replys guys i got the youngster off a mate who bought it off someone as a pup still havnt got the breeders number was gona call him to find out the crack. this is the dog in question.

i think its just a wheaton x whippet 21tts at 11mnths there is something else in the mix as she deos have a few collie mannerisms but i was only askin as that was what my mate was told

cheers mate shes like sh*t off a stick at take off and bags of attitude gives my big lad hell when playing. stubborn isnt the word got her at 9mnths and am startin basically from scratch with her and is proving quite the challenge but one which i will overcome should make a good wee rabbit dog.

i was under the impression there wasnt smithfields anymore,my mate as a hancocks that some guy at a show told us looked like a smithfield.Looked at pics of them can see why he said it.Try and get a pic of the bitch put up later atb JB
