iceman001979 1,316
my god for the 1st time since l have been on this me and unfit agree with something how things can change in a day. What you do with them traps is cruel the yotes are there for hours on end and some even try bite at there own leg to get away. Why dont you just run the dogs at them if they miss they miss and if it gets caught its over in a few mins any way with 4 dogs on the yote anyway but having it in a trap for hours then let four dogs on it is just bad crack. dont think any trap should be used and if so a trap cage where the door closes down behind it and then a gun used no pain or suffering.Think the usa need a ban on this sorted off traps just does not seem right in my eyes like bear bateing and seal clubing. whats wrong with seal clubbing?????????? tomo you need have hard look at your life if seal clubing is ok with u prick have you ever used a priest to kill an animal or fish????? not even getting into this with you your sick the antis would love you think this site should be for uk only no Link to post

Aaron Proffitt 142
Ok thanks for that Aaron - I have zilch experience of trapping. Whereabouts do you relocate to, just out of curiosity. Do the traps not ever cause damage to the animals then? Have you any information about the type of trap you use - a link or photo maybe? As of late, we've been relocating them to places with high concentrations of feral pigs....coyotes will eat a whole litter of piglets in a sitting. The most damage I see is when I get a toe catch.... sometimes results in a three toed coyote. That's easily remedied by using the correct size. I'll get some pics of my favs . Link to post

Righto ... now I'm on a roll What determines your choice to relocate versus shoot? Would it be down to the condition of the pelt? How much land are you managing? I just wonder if you weren't using traps how would that effect your ability to keep the coyote population managable? I think some folks over here don't really appreciate just how vast the land is there. Even tho coyotes are obviously 'the enemy' so to speak, are you mindful of culling them humanely or is your soul purpose to kill 'em all Rambo stylee? Hope you don't mind me asking I'm just really curious about the whole thing and having never been to the US - despite growing up in the friendly country to the North - I kinda have a picture in my minds eye of a bunch of rednecks running willy nilly round the place setting big razor sharp traps, toting guns, spitting tobacco juice and generally being a bit rough about how they hunt Link to post
out lamping 0
1. I run two checks a day ... before and after work . The longest one would be in a trap would be 12 hours. Everybody keeps talking about the freaking sun. Trapping season is in the fall and winter. They sun themselves this time of year. Sheesh... 2. They are either shot or relocated... relocated my arse wat with half a leg Link to post
