hi mate its not good when this happens but there is no definate way to say what killed them without the vets doing tests and that will cost you if both died at the same time could it be summit they ate personaly i dont feed mine ferals they carry to many dieseas's which is bad for humans never mind ferrets so that may be summit to look at ..are they kept outside ?? the temp has dropped a hell of alot over the past month (normally this wont be a problem ) but if they've had an underlineing problem that may not of helped ..

like i say mate it could be anything what your best off doing now is getting some viruscide give the cage a good clean out and get another pair ..

im sure there will be someone on here who might help you there im in newcastle if your close there is a pair of hobs here you could have ...

i wouldnt feed ferals either i know how nasty a bite from one of them can turn let alone what other diesases they carry, but as been said previously its hard to tell without a pm for sure

Just a thought i know many ferals are trapped & brought in for neutering & then released again , i am told that normaly they cut a v shape nick in the cats ear when its under anasthetic so in the future people know its been neutered & its possible they may also be jabbed for the common cat diseases

If that is the case then it may be worth looking into the possibility that its some chemical the cat may have been injected with

Bit of a long shot i know

I thought he ment feral pigeons ??

I dont know i assumed cats  that assumption comes from the days when i got regular phone call from an old fella we became friends with , who used to reel of a list of things he had shot , feral cats being one of them & a turkey he ran over that was so big i couldnt pick it up

:clapper: :11: @ Kay.

I have always fed ferals (pigeons) to my stinkers with no problems, but they aren’t the scabby ones you see round town.

I have even eaten them myself and had no problems. ;) atb bedrock

Maybe i am the only person to be offered feral cats as ferret food then , i do remember reading donkeys yrs ago that Plummer fed his ferret rhysus (sp) monkeys on occasion

hi all

this is how it goes ,if you feed pigeons like most off us do what you have to remember is to remove what is left because the weather is mild during the day and the meat goes off and your ferrets will still eat it if there is nothing else this by giving your ferrets food poisoning because they are only small and they cannot over come this , so remove all old food and feed fresh food tim
