lurchergrrl 1,441
thats why the majority of kids these days are little arseholes, ffs having a day off school just so they can get a fecking game and lock themselves in their room for hours on end is it any wonder theres so many imbeciles knocking about,my 8 yr old lad has an xbox, but he'd much rather go out and play,no matter what the weather I'm with you Craigy - if one of my kids wanted the day off over a video game they'd be sorely disappointed in my reply. In fact they'd know better than to ask. And if I was buying it at this time of the year I'd be inclined to save it for an xmas gift anyway. Mine aren't old enough for video games. We've got a wii and they play the sports games sometimes but not every day and not for long periods at a time. I'm rather tight when it comes to letting them sit in front of the tv for too long as well. They're the only little kids I know who are happy to go out and walk the dogs for miles without complaining. ... but then who am I to point fingers. I get to playing bejewelled on facebook and can spend two hours before I realise the time's gone

Has been riding a moterbike all summer now ready to take driving lessons. But he will be chuffed to bits when he see his new game after a hard day in the books Healthy boy if you ask me. Spot on... it's definitely all about getting the balance.. and to hear my boy (15yrs) sounding so damn pleased when he found out that I had bought it was great. He went beating at the weekend.. comes home from a 14 mile taxi ride from school after a day in his final year... it's dark.. its cold.. he cleans and feeds his ferrets... gets the wood in for the evening ( if needed) and helps me with the dogs... actually he helped prepared the pheasants for tea tonight BEFORE going on the xbox even though I could see him itching to get on there. Waiting to give it as a Christmas gift really isn't an option.. it's a 'must have'. I thought he might grow out of this but apparently not.. it never stops.. and who am I kidding.. I have 2 boys.. Hes on it now.. xbox live.. chatting away to his mates. Hes happy and grateful. It's bad parenting that produces arseholes and imbeciles NOT the games. !!
