reading and looking at all the extreme workers on here what do youse expect of a good working ferreting dog no matter what cross you have but preferably lurcher type ,i no what i expect not that it always works but mark a hole gaurd the nets , catch a bolting rabbit ,fetch back to me and get ready for the next bolter , mark were the rabbit is as in some cases there near enough at hole and dogs finds them quicker and respect the ferret at all times and not fech of when bored

i got a 4 year old cocker dog at the age of 15 weeks started taking him with me just for the fun within a year he had the making of a good dog , when he got to the age of 2 wow he changed

he will hunt rabbits and he will not leave one blade of grass unturned he marks the holes even to the one it went in i put the nets on holes he sits there the ferret is put in she bolts them if she comes out and he noes there is any more in there he want leave the hole got to see it to belive it.

go to the holes and say mark if he goes there and leave there is nothing in there the hours he saves me the year old one i got is coming on well to she picks the ferret up and fetch it to me when it comes out so might have a good team

take it there not many guys work there dogs with the ferrets nowadays 5 or 6 answers lol

Ok so I'll rise to the bait if only to keep the ball rolling .

A ferreting dog ; should not chase stock .

Should not b*gger-about

Should come back.

There's all this other sh*t like hand signals ,retrieving ,marking, not damaging netted rabbits and the like but it don't mean didly if the basic obedience is'nt there .

And that big grey dog marking the hole IS a pure grey.
