what do youse ,feed your ferrets on we feed our stock ,on meat,rabbits whatever we can get our hands on ,what do you all feed them on ,this extreme hunting site lol what do you think of this dry stuff compared to good rabbit carcases

we feed 90% whole prey and supermarket meats...

 

Rabbit makes up most of the diet, with pigeon, duck, pheasant, chicken, mince, and other off cuts our butcher might have kept back for us...

 

on rare occassions we do feed a dry kibble called Vitalin... good protein level and minimal smelly output compared to other dry kibbles. This is used when the flies just get TOO bad, day 5 of that camping trip and the rabbit's gone off or if i have a poorly ferret that needs to firm up their stools, kibble will do the trick generally within 24hrs...

Bread and milk sops with the odd rabbits head thrown in will qaurantee a kill in every time.Jokeing aside the dried stuff is without doubt better fed in the summer.The time i saw my ferrets clap weight on in winter was [bANNED TEXT] i fed them on whole pheasents that inturn had been fed on wheat were they were strips of yellow fat on them.atb dell

kay saw my sisters ferrets thye had a dry coat and not as glossy as agod meat fed ferret ,gave the brother inlaw abuse get of [bANNED TEXT] ass and get them some rabbits or theyllbe going on aholiday lol he soon gave them meat what a diffrence maybe dry would be good for them to cruch on but not as adiet full stop

i have never fed dried :no: so dont know what its like, rabbit , and hare are my ferrets main diet, the odd bit of venison or there heads, a few pheasants through the winter sqirrels are fairly regular when i have trapping jobs on :thumbs:

i feed mine rabbit/hare/venison any bird i come across and currently they chomping away on a nice salmon i did try that dry stuff and never liked the drop in condition so back to meat and fish and if its only fly's that people are bothered in summer i feed last thing at nite and remove any leftover carcass early morning
